Today is the last big day of transporting my paintings to The Beacon Centre Whitehaven for my upcoming exhibition. Since moving to Cumbria, the CN Group of newspapers have been terrific in supporting me with various articles, here’s the latest write up in The Cumberland News.
Meanwhile, the image above is one of my new oil on canvas paintings Farmhouse, Langdale Valley. Another awe-inspiring valley in the Lake District that I love – who wouldn’t! particularly the unmistakeable outline of Crinkle Crags (seen here in the painting.) I’m really happy with the way this canvas has turned out – the bright palette, the sun beating down onto the valley, the treatment I’ve given to the side of the barn on the left of the canvas and also the colour of the slate roofs, there was quarrying for slate here from the mid-18th century with around 30 slate quarries. This painting is NOW SOLDÂ theshiningtree.com/kevin-weaver-cumbria
The Langdale Valley comprises of Great Langdale with the Langdale Pikes at the head (and three fantastic public houses! Dungeon Ghyll, Sticklebarn Tavern and Britannia Inn) and Little Langdale which is softer, pastoral, a lush green valley.
