My latest war painting, a nod to German Expressionism and The Impressionists, but a heartfelt tribute to the courage of the people in the painting. This piece comes from photographs I took during the war in Sarajevo, several shells fell on this market directly, killing some 300 people in all. There were 150 victims in one attack alone.
