Kirkland Afternoon, Ennerdale

My latest oil on canvas, Kirkland Afternoon, Ennerdale. This is similar in technique to a painting I did called ‘Dalesbottom Farmhouse, Keswick’. I’m still developing my style and experimenting but returning to this technique for a series of colourful Lakeland landscapes featuring traditional Cumbrian buildings in preparation for my upcoming show at The Beacon in Whitehaven, in May 2015. Kirkland Afternoon, Ennerdale is 3 x 3′, framed £900.

9th May to 12th July ‘Impressions of the Lakes and the Energy Coast’ by Kevin Weaver

“Inspired by West Cumbria’s Energy Coast, Kevin uses light and colour to render the Cumbrian landscape in the style of the Impressionists.  His bold and bright artwork explores the beauty and power of nature and looks at how this power can be sustainably harnessed by man.

The Beacon originally opened to visitors back in July 1996. In June 2008, after a major redevelopment, we were officially reopened by HM Queen Elizabeth II. We are now open after an exciting redisplay, incorporating the history of the nuclear industry in Copeland – ‘The Sellafield Story.’ We continue to offer easy access, guided tours, room hire, group bookings, gallery exhibitions, events and activities. We even have educational services, and groups and clubs.” [The Beacon, Whitehaven]
